Opinion and Answer 23 Edition 39: Why I like steam locomotives instead of diesel locomotives

 Hi Folks,

Good Sunday Afternoon everyone, It's time for another edition of Opinion & Answer. In today's edition, I want to share my thoughts behind why I love the steam locomotives instead of the diesel locomotives  that we currently have on the railways.

-Conductor Wolf

I personally like steam locomotives because if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have the railways to move goods and passengers around the country and around the world as part of the transportation systems in the different countries. With the increasing loads of passengers and goods, bigger trains were designed and built to help while more shunting engines were made to help with the increasing shutting on the railways around the world. In my opinions, I personally like the steam locomotives that operate in Great Britain and Scotland while nowadays they operate as heritage locomotives  as the diesels took over the workload of the steam locomotives.

What I like about the steam engines are that they are like the founding fathers of the railways as they created the railways and the diesels are like their sons who grew up and took over their jobs while the steam locomotives retired into the heritage work or were scrapped. They were truly amazing and powerful engines that ran up and down the railways pulling the goods trains and passengers as goods and people needed to get to different places around the countries. If it wasn't for the steam locomotives being invented, then passengers and goods wouldn't be able to move to different places at a faster pace and would've been stuck on the roads and long road delivers.

What I don't like about the diesel locomotives are the fact that they were loud and noisy. Every time they leave a station, they would leave a small cloud of fumes as they departed. Even though diesel locomotives are built better and faster than steam engines, the one thing that keeps them same are the goals but with the different of cheaper costs of maintenance and increase speeds. But another difference is that steam locomotives represent the past while diesel engines represent the present with the electrics presenting the future of the railway.

In conclusion, steam locomotives not only represent the past but represent a time in history where steam once rule the railways and showed their sprites by working on the heritage railways and on tourist trains that happen around great Britain along in other countries.
