Opinion and Answer 23 Edition 47: Why I like learning about the Furness Railway
Good Sunday Evening everyone, It's time for another edition of Opinion & Answer. In today's edition, I want to share a few reasons why I like the Furness Railway as one of my favorite British Railways to research online. So please join me on this fun journey as I share a few reasons about liking the Furness Railway.
I would've done it earlier between 1 pm-2 pm like I usually do on Sundays but because this Sunday is before Memorial Day (Monday May 29th), I was tied up on a pre-planned project. But I have some time this evening, so here is my Opinion & Answer.

I love researching the Furness Railway because of its history of operation in the Furness district of Lancashire in the North West portion of England. During its operation services, the Furness Railway operated a railway that link Ulverston 'the capital of the district', iron ore mines (at Dalton-in-Furness) and slate mines (at Kirkby-in-Furness) with the coast at Barrow harbour and at Piel pier. Another reason I love researching information on Furness Railway is its mixed fleet of steam locomotives on its railway and ships that formed the Barrow-Fleetwood service that they operated between 1846-1922.
It's a fun railway to read about as it gives a bit of a unique history of a railway that not only operated a fleet of locomotives but also a fleet of ships that they operated between 1846-1922. Plus also the color schemes of the Furness Railway. Another reason is that the Furness Railway played a huge role in transporting iron ore and slate from the Furness district down to the port in Barrow and at Piel pier.
