 Hi All, As another Sunday has come around, its time for another edition of my Opinion & Answer. On this edition we take a look at Thomas and Friends TV show's railways paint schemes compared to their real life counterparts steam engines.

Fictional Railway paint schemes

    1. North Western Railway:
      1.  Cerulean (Deep sky blue) with red lining
        1. Thomas

      2. Green with red lining
        1. Henry

    2. Skarloey Railway:
      1. Skarloey- Red with white lining/ (S9-24) crimson red with white and gold lining
      2. Rheneas- vermilion (brilliant red color) with black and gold lining/yellow with blue lining
      3. Sir Handel/Falcon-dark blue with red lining
      4. Peter Sam/Stuart-dark green with red lining
      5. Rusty-orange with yellow lining 
      6. Duncan-Golden yellow with black lining 
      7. Freddie-Grey with red and black lining
      8. Mighty Mac-Royal Blue with yellow and red lining

  3. Henry I-Great Northern Railway-Pigment green 
  4. Henry II-London Midland & Scottish Railway-Cardinal Red
  5. Great Northern Railway-Pigment green
  6. Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway-Saddle Brown
  7. Great Western Railway-Corn Harvest 
  8. Great Eastern Railway-Sapphire 
  9. Great Western Railway-Corn Harvest 
  10. Kenya-Uganda Railway/East African Railways-Possibly Maroon/Red 
  11. Southern Railway-Green
  12. Caledonian Railway-Caledonian Blue

    1. Standard Livery: deep bronze green lined in black and yellow lining till 1980's
    2. Since the 1980's-varying different coloring schemes 
      • Talyllyn-(when built)carried lined black and TR red liveries respectively./Indian red
      • Dolgoch-(when built)carried lined black and TR red liveries respectively/Indian Red/Atlas green
      • Sir Haydn-Standard Talyllyn green with black & yellow lining
      • Edward Thomas-Standard Talyllyn green with black & yellow lining
      • Douglas-Royal Air Force Blue livery 
      • Tom Rolt-Standard Talyllyn green with black and yellow lining
