Since this is my 10th Opinion & Answer & my first official milestone, I wanted to celebrate by sharing my opinion about Reverend Wilbert Awdry and sharing some connections that most wouldn't have known about him with the Thomas and Friends shows. The link is down below on where I made these connections. 

#1  Wilbert Awdry & Duke the Lost Engine "Granpuff" Connection

• Rev Wilbert Awdry's grandchildren, would have affectedly called him Granpuff because of him smoking his pipe and smoke would puff out from it every time Wilbert would smoke his pipe since it look like it was puffing from a steam engine. So the nickname "Granpuff" given to Wilbert Awdry was given to Duke the Lost Engine  in Thomas and Friends (T&F) by Peter Sam and Falcon because Duke outlasted them all in the story told by Thomas to his sleepy friends. Thin Clergyman 

I personally love this connection & it is one of my favorites. For all those who don't know while watching Thomas and Friends and/or reading The Railway Series book, there is one character that people overlook. That character is known as "The Thin Clergyman" who is an English Reverend by the way he dresses like a real life Reverend in Great Britain. The Thin Clergyman appeared in the Railway Series Books then later reprises his role in Thomas and Friends in CGI starting with his debut in T&F 2015 movie Special "Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure" and . As seen in CGI most wouldn't have recognized the Thin Clergyman to be the fictional version of the Real life Reverend Wilbert Awdry as the Arc Production consulted with the Awdry Family in the making of the Thin Clergyman. 

Please note the fact that "Thin Clergyman" cameo (1st appeared) in the Railway Series Book's Troublesome Engine story Percy Run Away. Made his first television appearance in Thomas & Friends  2015's Special Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure and made his final appearance in the Railway Series Book's Duke the Lost Engine and in Thomas and Friend's Season 24 final double length episode "World of Tomorrow"
