Opinion & Answer Part III: 911 Diesel Locomotive 





Before I begin with my opinion about the 911 locomotives like the CSX 911 diesel, I would like to throw a personal note from my view prior to giving my thoughts on the 911 locomotives. 


Personal Note from Conductor Wolf

This O&A is very special because not only does this pertain to 911 locomotives but also to the men and women of the fire community. As a member of the fire community, I felt that this would be special to do this alongside the Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Services.  This O&A will only pertain to the 911 locomotives from CSX & Norfolk Southern Railroads. 

As a member of a fire department, knowing the railroads like CSX & Norfolk Southern knowledge our support and are able to support our effort by having trains like Norfolk Southern helping by educating members of first responders of rail hazmat and emergency response to the railroads and others for safety on the rails. 

Now on to the Opinionated thoughts of CSX and Norfolk Southern's 911 locomotives.

Norfolk Southern 911 "Honoring First Responders"


Beside CSX with their "CSX Pride in Service" locomotive, Norfolk Southern had gotten into the game with honoring first responders by doing a Norfolk Southern Locomotive in Red White and Gold liverly with first responder badges. Along with assigning its own special number of 9-1-1 (US emergency number) and attaching it to its own train set to help teach first responders through Norfolk Southern's OAR "Operation Awareness & Respond along with Transportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response program. So in conclusion, the team at Norfolk Southern are happy to work with the 1st responders to help teach and educate!





CSX 911 locomotive "Spirit of First Responders"


Nice to see that CSX railroad honoring the first responders with a CSX "Pride In Service" train dedicated to honoring our 1st Responders Community. I do like that as a 1st Responder Community, we have a great partnership with CSX rail company and to be honored by them.
