Opinion & Answer Part IV: Passenger VS Mix-Traffic Locomotives
Passenger Trains
Passenger Trains are just what they are...Passenger Trains!
Passenger trains are trains that consist of 2 to 15 passenger cars with sometimes of a 20 passenger cars being puled by an engine which in this case, a steam locomotive and some passengers trains had cabooses. These trains are long and could go very fast with passengers being on board. Even some went as far to having early versions of sleeper cars being on the passenger trains.
With passengers trains, there are two common types of passenger's trains:
1) Long-Distances Trains
2) Short-Distance Trains
Along with passengers trains being on Main lines & Branch lines all across the World's rail network.
Author Note: I will go into further details of these two types of passengers trains along with others in a future edition of O&A 🚂

Mix Traffic Engines
Now this is where the confusion happens because of the names of these engines being known as "Mix traffic" engines. So lets define what "Mix Traffic" means for a locomotive.
Mix Traffic: An engine that can pull both passengers & Freight trains.
The interesting part about freights is that on most railways/railroads, mix traffic engines are sometimes on the mainline with passenger trains but almost every railroad & railways put them on branch lines that are dedicated to strictly freight services.
While mixed traffic engines are mostly pulling freight trains, there are some cases where they may take the helm of a passenger trains hence the classifications of "mix traffic" engine. As they can haul any type of loads whether its passengers or freight.
