Steam Train Post 13: New Zealand Class B of 1899 Locomotives

Author Note: This steam train post is about an entire set of steam locomotives not just one single engine

As we continue on the history train journey, we arrived at our 13th stop. With this train trip, we leave Australia and travel over New Zealand from New South Wales, Australia to see their New Zealand's rail network where their Class B of 1899 set of locomotives had run.

Interesting facts

  1. The Class B set of locomotives were 4-8-0 locomotives.

  2. Despite early difficulties, they were among NZR's most influential designs.
