Steam Train Post 7: Great Western Railroad 1400 Auto Tank Engine
As we continue traveling on the history rail train, we come to our seventh stop. For our seventh stop we stay at the Great Western Railroad to be with their GWR 1400 Class tank engine also known as Auto tank engine. The GWR 1400 class engine has unique fact. The fact is that the 1400 class are known as Auto tank engine meaning that they can be control from the 2nd passenger car to be able to drive the train back down the line leaving only the firemen in the cab of the tank engine while the engineer is in the back of the train in the auto coach.
