Steam Train Post 9: Bulleid Q1 Class locomotive
As we continue on with our history train journey, we arrived at our ninth stop of our journey. Our ninth stop is at the Southern Railroad with their Bulleid Q1 Class locomotive or for short Q1 Class engine. The two interesting points about the Q1 class locomotive are 1) is their nicknames and 2) the construction of the Bulleid Q1 class locomotives. The reason is that these trains were built during WWII war time frames with cheaper materials. The reason why they used cheaper material to build is that to keep heavier material for the military purposes. The reason that they earned their nickname "Ugly Ducklin" is based on the shape and style of the engine.

Conductor Wolf's Thoughts on this intresting Steam Train:
In my own view while doing the research of this train, I found this engine to have a very interesting background. This engine had served greatly on the southern railroad during WWII and was made from the cheapest materials. Also to help with the design, kept it curved all the way from cab to boiler to help due to greater materials were used for the military. During 1942-1966, the SR Q1 locomotives or Bulleid Q1 were given many nicknames including "Ungly Ducklings" and "Biscuits Bucket"
