As we continue on our train journey, we arrive at our 42nd stop. With this train trip, we leave South African Railway South Africa on the continent of Africa and return to the United Kingdom. After landing in United Kingdom, we travel over to the South Eastern & Chatham Railway to see their P Class locomotives.

As we continue on our train journey, we arrive at our 43rd stop. With this train trip, we leave South Eastern & Chatham Railway and travel over to the London Brighton & South Coast Railway.

Hull and Barnsley Railway Class G3


As we continue on our train journey, we arrive at our 44th stop. With this train trip, we leave London Brighton & South Coast Railway and travel over to the Hull and Barnsley Railway to see their G3 Class tank engines before being reclassified into J75 under the London North Eastern Railway company.

H&BR Class G3/LNER Class J75 class Details

  1. Railroad/Basic: Hull and Barnsley Railway Class G3 & London North Eastern Railway Class J75 (Note same engine just reclassification by the LNER after grouping in 1923)
  2. Engine: Tank Engine

  5. Built (Year): 1901-1908 & 1922* => 16 locomotives
    1. Total: 16 locomotives
  6. Withdrawn: 1937-1949->all 16 locomotives*
  7. Number of Wheels: 6 wheels
  8. Configuration: 0-6-0T
  9. Preservation: 0 locomotives

Couple of Interesting notes to read about this class:H&BR Class G3/LNER Class J75
  • (Built year note) *1922 was the start of 14 out of 16 locomotives being rebuilt from domeless boiler to domed boilers with 2 staying domeless boiler locomotives
  • **(Withdrawn note) Even though all 16 locomotives were withdrawn, one locomotive did survived into the British railway ownership in 1948 and was given the number BR 68365 with none surviving into preservation
